Animation Demo Reel Intro and Outro | Animated Title Cards | 3D Character Animation
While I can't share my full animation demo reel here, I'm excited to share the new intro and outro title cards I animated for it! For my full portfolio and demo reel you can find them here- cassandrasigouin.ca Please send me an email if you would like access to my full production animation demo reel at csigouinanimation@gmail.com Inspired by a very real tumble I took while trying to film some reference for a Barbie dance scene. A Mime is Born- Character Animation for September 2023 11 Second Club Entry
My entry for the 11 Second Club September contest! An audition for a French school play goes horribly wrong when the hopeful actress annoys the director with her awful French impression. Not wanting to hear any more, the bard inflicts an ironic curse. To create the trapped-in-a-box look, I filmed my reference in a tight hallway and actually accidentally fell a few times which helped create a more frantic look I could bring to my animation. I really wanted to create a contrast between the two characters, as performed in their voices. I used a more reserved and stationary performance for the director while really pushing the energy on the actress. As well, I used lighting to help push the visual language of the two characters, the director in a very minimally lit environment shrouded in shadows while the actress is lit in a vibrant and bright style to match her personality. Rigs used: Amy and Dana by Gabriel Salas- gumroad.com/gabrielsalas Paper rig by Julin Armendariz Ortiz- https://www.cgtrader.com/products/paper-rig All other rigs and sets were designed by me!

Body Mechanics Flip Animation and Smear Frame Practice
With each personal shot, I aim to challenge myself to learn something new. With this body mechanics animation, my goal was to create smear frames for the fast action. I created my own workflow for creating these geometries, combining duplicating and deforming limbs from the character rig, as well as modeling arcs and dots from scratch. This shot was a lot of work but I'm so proud to see how all those hours of painstakingly matching my grease pencil drawings paid off.

The Forest Hunt | Horse Canter Animation
An elusive feline is on the run from the knight's watch Excited to work on more horse animations in the future, they have a lot of moving pieces to consider and it's so satisfying when they all come together Rigs used: Gorgeous George https://dkolpakov.gumroad.com/l/GorgeousGeorge Dirk the Daring https://agora.community/content/dirk-the-daring-maya Gamma https://agora.community/content/gamma-maya

Spiderverse Inspired Wall Climb Parkour Animation | 12 FPS Body Mechanics Practice
My latest body mechanics practice shot, this time I challenged myself to work at a lower frame rate while keeping a 24 FPS camera. To create this effect I used a more 2D workflow, relying heavily on "onion skinning" with BHGhost to create all the inbetween stepped keys. This was also the first shot where I used a simple cube rig to layout the action and timing and I think it really paid off in the end!
